With David Boston, Dee Miller, Ken-Yon Rambo and others in front of him, wide receiver Mike Furrey came to realize that his opportunities to touch the football at Ohio State would be few and far between.
The Hilliard product, who walked on at Ohio State and lettered last season while playing mostly on special teams, proved after transferring to Northern Iowa that he had not lost that feeling for the pigskin.
Furrey, a 6-foot, 177-pounder set school records for receptions (82) and yards (1,291) in a season in helping the Division I-AA school to a 7-4 record. The first-team All-Gateway Conference selection had seven touchdown catches.
