Jeff Vergamini caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Donaldson with 25 seconds left as visiting Upper Arlington defeated Hilliard 35-34 last night in an Ohio Capital Conference Central Division high school football game.
Jamie Schuer added the extra point to give UA its second last-second win in two weeks.
Vergamini’s touchdown came minutes after Steve Baird scored on a 1-yard run to give the Wildcats a 34-28 lead.
Trevor Hartley returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and scored on a 13-yard run as the Golden Bears took a 14-7 lead after one quarter.
Ryan Aleshire countered with TD runs of 18 and 13 yards as Hilliard tied the score at 20 at halftime.
Steve Baird, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns, had a 4-yard run to give the Wildcats a 27-20 lead.
