Dublin stops 2-point try, tops Hilliard 20-19
Jarrett Robinson and Tony Mamais combined to break up Doug Herrmann’s conversion pass in the final minute as host Dublin held on to beat Hilliard 20-19 last night in a non-league football game.
Herrmann had pulled Hilliard to 20-19 when he passed 5 yards to Matt Furrey with 50 seconds left.
Dublin (5-0) had taken a 13-0 lead on a 1-yard run by John Orsak in the second quarter and a 90-yard kickoff return by Robinson to open the second half.
Herrmann had lead Hilliard (3-2) to a 13-13 tie in the third quarter with an 87-yard pass to Furrey and a 1-yard run. Orsak’s second TD, a 10-yard run, gave Dublin a 20-13 lead with 9:12 remaining.
